FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards Finalists
Inksters are finalists in the Scottish heat of this year’s FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards. This is in the self-employed/sole trader of the year category.
Brian Inkster set up Inksters as a sole trader in 1999. 23 years later and Brian is still a sole trader. Inksters now has 9 employees and 17 other sole traders. Those sole traders all work under the Inksters brand from 10 offices throughout Scotland.
Plug & Play Law
Brian has developed ‘Plug & Play Law’ since 2013. This is a model where senior lawyers can work as a collective, with enhanced technology and back-office support. Where a hub-and-spoke model exists. There is a back office “hub” (Glasgow) and “spokes” elsewhere (currently in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Eigg, Forfar, Inverness, Lerwick, Portree, Thurso and Wick).
What the Judges at the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards are looking for
This award recognises sole traders and the self-employed and celebrates the tenacity and drive it takes to go it alone. Judges at the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards are looking for a demonstration of considerable progression, a sound business plan and a sense of purpose for the future. Judges are looking for the self-employed or sole trader who has shown consistent growth backed by a strong financial performance, while demonstrating a clear understanding of the markets where they operate.
In the last two years, and all during the pandemic, Inksters added 5 new self-employed solicitors. At the same time, the employed support team increased by three.
Brian Inkster said, “I am very pleased to see Inksters reach this stage in the high-profile FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards. It recognises the transformation we have gone through during the pandemic and the fact that we have transitioned to a law firm where our solicitors are self-employed/sole traders.”
When and Where is the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards Scotland?
